Here you will experience everything from authentic iban dance to local rice wine to nighttime traditional spearfishing. This is the Sarawak Iban adventure you’ve been searching for.
From kuching your first stop of this sarawak adventure will be the Semenggoh nature reserve to witness semi-wild Orangutan in their natural environment. Following the Orangutans continue toward the iban sarawak lands through steep, gravel roads by 4×4 passing through several cocoa, rubber and sarawak pepper farms before arriving in a beautiful remote village area. Relax and get acclimated with the slow village pace by exploring the area and taking in some of the traditions of the iban people. After a home cooked dinner sample Tuak (well known local rice wine) and have a restful night’s sleep in the Iban longhouse.
Wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy a local style breakfast. The set off on a seven kilometer trek through virgin jungle to you jungle camp for the night located next to a beautiful curtain waterfall that will give you that sarawak adventure feeling. Tonight participate in a tasty bbq dinner and have a rest from your day of trekking and swimming.
Today you will be continuing your trek in the amazing sarak jungle ending in another even more remote and beautiful Iban longhouse. Take some time to explore the village and its surroundings before a wonderful local Iban dinner. After dark and weather permitting test your skill by attempting traditional spearfishing with the locals.
Today you emerge from the jungle and head back to civilization ending up in the capital city of Kuching.
Includes All road/off road transport, boat safari, 3 nights accommodation (basic mattress and mosquito net), all meals from the moment you leave Kuching until you arrive back in Kuching.
