Survivor Island, also known as Pulau Tiga, is famed for being chosen as the location for the wildly popular US television series “Survivor”. Survivor Island is a stunningly beautiful island only 2 hours from Kota Kinabalu.
You will find this beautiful island has many attractions such as the natural sulphur mud baths, beautiful beaches, and jungle treks leading to awesome snorkeling just off the beach. If you’re looking for the postcard tropical island on your holiday, look no further than Survivor Island.
Pulau Tiga is an island lovers dream! This location has a lot of wow packed in it’s 607 hectares including 2 mud volcanoes, a mud bathing pool, jungle treks, beautiful beaches, great snorkeling and diving!
Our two day tour to Survivor Island will take you just off the coast of Sabah, Borneo for an overnight stay in our resort. Once there, you are free to explore all the wonder of this island.
From the resort, the whole island is within reach. There are a number of uninhabited beaches which are great for trekking from the resort. Larai-Larai Beach is particularly nice for a secluded sunset.
Trekking is a great way to explore the island and its beaches on your own, in an amazing environment. It only takes about 6 hours to walk the entire island on your own.
There is also more to see with some underwater exploration! The national park surrounding the island is 90% covered with coral reef and is home to many underwater species such as turtles, clownfish, lionfish, stingrays, parrotfish, mantis shrimp, lobster, and much, more.

Day 1: Kota Kinabalu – Pulau Tiga
- Pickup from hotel in Kota Kinabalu for an overland ride to Kuala Penyu.
- From Kuala Penyu jetty you will travel 30 minutes by boat to Survivor Island.
- Upon arrival check into your room.
- Explore the beaches, go trekking, take a dip in a mud volcano, snorkel, or simply relax.
Day 2: Pulau Tiga – Kota Kinabalu
- Checkout from resort and transfer back to Kuala Penyu, by boat.
- Once on the mainland our driver will transport you back to Kota Kinabalu.
